Product Overview
MOXA EDR-8010 Series is an industrial multiport secure router designed for critical Ethernet-based control and monitoring networks. It combines firewall, NAT, VPN, routing and managed Layer 2 switch functions in one compact industrial device.
The EDR-8010 Series is suitable for OT network security, PLC and SCADA protection, power substations, water treatment systems, oil and gas automation, factory automation and other industrial cybersecurity applications.
Main Features
The series provides 8 FE copper ports and 2 Gigabit SFP slots, giving users a practical all-in-one platform for firewall, NAT, VPN, router and switch deployment. It supports secure remote access tunnels with VPN and helps simplify network setup with Network Address Translation.
The embedded firewall uses policy rules to control traffic between trusted zones, while Deep Packet Inspection helps examine industrial protocol data. The series also supports RSTP and Turbo Ring redundancy protocols to improve industrial network availability.
Ethernet and Security
Ethernet interfaces include 8 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and 2 x 1000BaseSFP slots. Software features include DHCP server/client, LLDP, QoS/CoS/ToS, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, web console HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, TFTP and time management through NTP/SNTP.
Security functions include Secure Boot, IPsec, L2TP server, RADIUS, TACACS+, trusted access control, SCP, SFTP, NTP authentication and Syslog authentication. Firewall and DoS/DDoS protection support traffic filtering for IP address, MAC address, ports, ICMP and Ethernet protocols.
Firewall, VPN and Routing Performance
Routing throughput is up to 50K packets per second / 500 Mbps, with a routing table capacity up to 4K rules. The series supports up to 120K concurrent connections and up to 6K connections per second.
Firewall throughput is up to 80K packets per second / 1000 Mbps, and IPS throughput is up to 40K packets per second / 500 Mbps. IPsec VPN supports up to 50 concurrent VPN tunnels, with encryption options including DES, 3DES, AES-128, AES-192, AES-256 and AES-256-GCM.
Power and Mechanical Design
The EDR-8010 Series supports 9.6 to 60 VDC operating voltage and 12/24/48 VDC redundant dual inputs. Connection is through a removable terminal block, and reverse polarity protection is supported.
The device uses a metal housing with IP40 rating. Dimensions are 45 x 135 x 105 mm, weight is approximately 520 g, and installation supports DIN-rail mounting as standard with optional wall mounting kit.
Industrial Environment
Standard models operate from -10 to 60 deg C, while wide-temperature -T models operate from -40 to 75 deg C. The device supports 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity and is built for harsh industrial environments.
